Life shine by AutoGlym

I’m getting 2 year old Mk 4 to replace much loved Mk2 Icon and the dealer is offering  Life Shine AutoGlym treatment inside and out for £350.

Only really interested in bodywork.

Is this something detailers professional or amateur would recommend?

Thanks for any advice.

If It was me it would depend on how good the original paint work is before they do the treatment and knowing exactly what the process/treatment is, I’m guessing its a sealant.

If they correct the paintwork before applying then I might go for it, but if the paintwork has swirls and they only clean and apply the treatment then I wouldn’t bother.

P.S.

Looks like just a sealant https://www.lifeshine.com/

I personally wouldn’t bother and either spend the cash having my car professionally corrected and detailed or just do it myself, there are some great products around now.

No. Definately not. Its basic sealant that will wear off in 4 months (max)

All salesmen are on commission. Get it done by a pro detailer for around that price with a sealant that will last more than 12 months (Ceramic for example)

Agree with Chris’s advice on this. I bought this package on a new VW Golf and it didn’t last long plus the person at the main dealer isn’t allowed enough time to apply it properly. It will end up being a rush job. Instead buy the car and use an independent detailer to do this for you with the products they recommend.

Nope… No… Never …Ever…

No. You can do it yourself using Autoglym polish and Extra Gloss Sealant for about £30 or a polish and sealant of your choice.

I would also clean the car with a clay bar first.

As i am not looking to spend a lot of time regularly waxing and polishing I use the Autoglym polish and sealant on all my cars when bought and then give a quick spray with Aqua Wax and wipe down at each wash.

had my 2nd car done with this offer , i could of given it a good polish and been happier with the result .

you could ceramic coat for £350
