Hi All

New member here. I bought my NC mid summer and have racked up 10,000 very enjoyable miles since then. The car has now covered 73,000 miles and is over 17 years old. Although I am very happy with the handling I guess the suspension must be getting a little tired. I drive mainly on local B roads (a couple of trips via the ferry to Spain account for about half the mileage - with plenty of twisties there as well). I have no intention of doing track days, so am thinking like for like replacement, rather than going the coilover route.

My car has what I believe are the Bilsteins that come with the Sport Option (they are yellow). Bilstein advise the B6s as replacements

Rear Bilstein B6 - Sport Shock Absorber - 24-131759 14688.0
Front Bilstein B6 - Sport Shock Absorber - 24-131742 12698.4

However they cannot supply matching springs. OEM spring appear to be out of stock on MX5Parts. Can anyone suggest alternative springs/suppliers

Cheers

Alan

How about the B6 mated to eibach pro springs ?

There a minus 30mm drop , however not a stiff bone shaking ride.

Contact Mazda directly. It’ll sting, but if you must have OEM, that’s your option.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Im not set on OEM springs but do want to retain the original ride height and suspension travel for the local bumpy B roads

My local Mazda dealer has quoted me £104 for front springs and £119 for rears. I can get KYB for £37/£35. I gather KYB are Kayaba who I know are a quality brand, so am leaning towards them.

My only doubt is around the correct OEM part number for front springs for my 2008 PRHT sport option. I’ve been on several websites which all list several springs depending on whether hard-top, date, sport or normal suspension, manual/auto. As an example amayama.com where I can see the correct rear spring for my car but not an exactly matching front .I can see the entry for with hard top (part number NH42-34-011) but it does not state if this is for normal or sport suspension (or both). Can anyone confirm ?

After much digging I found the following web parts catalogue which allows you to enter your VIN number and then gives you the exact OEM part number for your car, whatever the variant. Other members may find it useful.

The part numbers for my car :

Front Spring NF47-34-011A

Rear Spring N163-28-011
