Limited Slip Dif NA

Took my Eunos for MOT yesterday, it passed with no advisories which is always a bonus. Reason for this post is because……

My usual MOT station was far too busy so I took it to another tester who’d been recommended to me. During the test we discussed all things car related as you do, he then said that the Eunos had a limited slip differential. I didn’t realise that, I’ve owned the car for 5 years and I wasn’t aware.

Since discovering this, I’ve done some research and it appears most JDM cars were fitted with a LSD. As I wasn’t aware of this I thought I would make an interesting point.

I’m sure other members will have more information to add here.

Thank you,
Neil.

Others with more knowledge than me but I was told they are probably “dried up” by now. Would this mean you probably have an “open diff”??
Mine got cracked by a rear end shunt and I replaced it with a second hand torsen. I tracked it once around Donington before I sold it and it cornered beautifully.

Edit : my car was a 1990 model so probably a viscous limited slip diff. It was a bit tail happy in the wet.

The LSD still works fine, a testament to the engineering on these cars I guess. Just clicked on 68.000 miles on the way home from the testing station.
