Limited video content?

Love the forums and the fact they are hosted on the mx5oc website, very cool

Have you considered allowed the upload of short videos (could set a 25-30 Mb limit if needed)? I guess there might be technical reasons why you don’t want to do this (storage / bandwidth?) but it would be a nice way of allowing people to share HOWTO style info.

I know people use YouTube but I already have a YT channel and car videos wouldn’t really fit on it!

I guess in my situation one would have to start a new YT channel to host MX-5 related content, are there any other alternatives or hosting platforms we can use?

Thanks

This is the main reason, running a website and forum is quite expensive these days and we take great care to spend the money the club receives from your subscriptions extremely carefully.

Then there’s the content of a video, we would have no way to know what’s in it until it’s uploaded which would bring a new moderation overhead. By allowing the embedding of links from third party video hosts (YouTube) then the content and age moderation is taken care of by their systems which they do better than we ever could.

Makes sense, thank you for the response, I made a new YT channel so I can keep the videos separate.

Cheers!
