Today my “Local Energy Advisor” called to tell me my “old yellow insulation in the loft attracts condensation” and needed to be replaced IMMEDIATELY with his new improved more efficient version. A very pushy, rude, opinionated young man. I said no thanks, hung up and he rang me again, so I just blocked his number.
Hmm, the loft is correctly ventilated and dry, no hint of condensation, and I’m not paying a scammer to replace 9" of excellent stuff.
The number was 01202 1375xx. I’ve removed the last two to discourage anyone from trying to call it, but it features in the “who-called.co.uk” website as harassing and I saw several where the last digit varied suggesting an organised scam from a small call centre.

We’ve had them ring us about loft insulation, probably not the same people.
I let them rattle on then disclosed I work for a company that supplies insulation.
I did actually at one point in my working life, anyways I insulated my loft around 8 years ago for around £30, B&Q had a special on at the time. I just put the stuff over the top of the good condition but compressed stuff that was already up there. It must be around 10 inches thick now.

We often get different insulation specialist’s who all call them selves Chris phone us from a 01202 number.
If the last one took my advice, he probably had sex with him self!

I am tempted to let them come around my place and quote me happy I wonder what they will say when they turn up and see my boat. I bet it will be rude.

We have had up to seven calls a day from 01202 numbers who fail to “leave a message” so get blocked. No sooner do we “block” one 01202 number than we get called from another. We now block all 01202 numbers without hesitation. If it is such a blatant nuisance to so many people why can it continue unchallenged ?

The one I had using the same script I asked, “Yes, which local area is that?”.
The reply - “Errrrrrr… Ummmmm…”
