Longer NC antenna

Chaps.
I have the standard, original antenna on my NC (Bose system), but I live in a poor FM reception area.
Is the antenna mounting screw a common size? I want to swap the antenna for a 1/4 wave on FM (about 0.75mtrs.).
Cheers.
Rick.

Perhaps something like this (forget the aerial itself) would give you several adapters to suit. You might even be able to source the adapters on their own but for £6.99 I’d just go for it.

You then might be able to match new aerial to OEM base?
From a very quick google, M5 appears to be the thread size. Honda S2000, Renault Clio, Audi TT etc all seem to be interchangeable

Do you know where to buy such an item Rick? There are a couple of areas we spend time in with poor FM. I’d be interested to know if you can find one.

Hmm, worth investigating.

Hi John.
I’ll probably dig something out from my stash of antenna stuff.
Helps being an RF Comms engineer/Radio Ham!

The original NA antenna pole screws straight into the base on the NC I believe, looks proper cool too. (@ady)

That’s the badger!
I’ll order one up.

EDIT…
How Much?!
I’ll look around…

Cheers.
Rick.

I’m not sure on the cost. I had this left over as I had this on my old NA that I sold. It’s almost a sentimental thing.

You only need the mast as this fits straight into the NC base.

I love the longer aerial look, not a stubby fan.

I’ll keep an eye out for one.
And yes, a greater length is ALWAYS better (apparently…)
