Look ahead to 2025 - feedback wanted

With some cars in hibernation over the winter, it gives time to reflect on the previous year and look forward to the year ahead.
As AC my focus was on re-establishing the monthly social events and Sunday runs across the region. At times, we had 20 cars to these, which is great.
There were also some longer weekend runs, with stay overs, organised by other members across the year - to Alford and Lakes etc. and meeting other Regions.
There was some interest in a track day, but unf. no-one took this on to organise. Maybe next year?
Please feel free to add comment on what worked/didn’t and what you’d like to see for 2025.
As always, I’m looking for people to organise events and I’ll spread the word.
We will be holding a General Meeting on Sunday 01 March - will post more details when arranged.
Regards
Steve

Pitching in as one of the AC for Grampian it would be good to get some more inter area meet ups going.

For Grampian and Central we could conceive of a meet up in Tayside area earlier in the year, as they continue without an AC it would be good to offer the members there something to get involved in without having to travel too far.

I believe there’s a regime change in Highland & Moray too so will be good to continue to build links there also.

Grampian do their initial pass of the calendar for the year in January however it’s always flexible enough to evolve significantly through the year.

Hi Guys,
The regime change is underway for Highland & Moray and we are just completing the handover in the next few weeks.

We will be arranging a planning meeting in January and would be delighted to participate in any inter area runs. If you guys fancied a meet up to discuss then happy to do that too. I think the last time we did that was in Pitlochry many years ago.

Do you think we could maybe try and arrange a Scottish Summer event?
Maybe in grounds of University of Stirling or similar - quiet in Summer, lots of parking spaces etc.
Something to think about…
Folk may come from down south?
Will speak to Iain about it next time I see him.

The hotel at the management center have rooms for £64 for xmas nights. Would assume during the summer it would be similar pricing.

We have done similar in the past, having somewhere with good space and reasonable access to facilities would be definitely be a starter.

And just for laughs: Geographical centre of Scotland - Wikipedia.

We would certainly support that.

We certainly enjoyed the previous ‘Scottish Gatherings’ and would encourage our members to participate.

Hi Steve. Having only been in the club a short time and only having had my first 5 for 4 months.
I’ve limited experience of what’s normal events for the club. I can say that the Borders drive with breakfast and lunch stops was amazing! Great roads to suit the 5, fantastic scenery, lots and lots of cars and friendly owners.
More of the same please!

If anybody would be interested I’ll arrange a detailing demo day, I’ve done that a couple of times previously with a Glasgow based detailer. I’ve no financial interest, just had other clubs enjoy it when I’ve arranged before.

I appreciate how much work is involved in being a area coordinator as I used to do it for Ford Focus RS owners Club across central Scotland.

I wouldn’t want to take any responsibilities on but if you’re looking for ideas and there is interest I don’t mind.

Thanks for feedback, Davie.
I’m sure a detail demo day would go down well.
Maybe tie into a Regional event, if we get that organised?
Any other ideas, please feel free to pass them on, though they will be dependant on someone taking the lead to organise etc.
Im trying to be more ‘Co-ordinator’ as the title suggests not ‘organiser’ as it doesnt - with limited success!
