Morning all.
We are coming back to the MX5 fold, and currently wanting to buy.
We are looking at a few MK2, MK2.5 models and one has popped up in Faringdon, near Swindon.
Not sure if this is the correct discussion group geographically, but I’m after information from the previous owner.
The car is a W reg, 2000, Icon with a bit over 40k miles. Any knowledge of this car would be gratefully received.

Presumably you have the Reg, in which case a quick look at the MOT history on the DVLA site is a good place to start. Once you have this then you can decide if it’s worth investing time to actually see the car in the metal, or rust…
Yeah, I do indeed have the reg, and I’ve checked the MOT history. But back in the day, of my first membership, any OC member cars for sale were well known, and you’d end up talking to the owner. A much clearer picture.
MOT history doesn’t always give that full picture.
However, I’ve since found out that the owner has suffered a family tragedy, so I’ll not pursue chatting to them for a while.
