Replaced cig lighter & ice in-car fuses, now fine; checked under bonnet fuses, all intact; ice & cig lighter still dead!
Next plan was to check for +12v @ in car fuse box.
Interior light may be coincidental, bulb? Unchecked.
Anyone suffered a similar problem?
Check wiring to back of unit - mine was disconnected - push on to re-fit.
Also, apparently there’s a wire on the unit that burns out - someone posted pics somewhere… no doubt he (or she???) will be along soon to post a link hopefully!
Aren’t there other fuses in boot? - not sure which would be for cig lighter.
I’ve looked at the circuit diagram, as far as I can see there are no further fuses that could be an issue.
Wiring to the back of what unit? If you’re talking about the ice, I’ve removed the ice to attempt to sort the problem.
A burnt out wire is probbly my problem, the question is where! [8-)]
Many thanks
Wiring on back of cig lighter - there’s also a wire on the cig lighter body (remove to see) that burns out - think Geoff Walton has more info on this…
This is the info Goof refered to
Although I suspect your problems are deeper seated than this. Which cct diags are you using?
Is there any more news on this problem? Mine’s just done exactly the same, lost power to those 3 things. It happened when i was wrestling with the factory headunit, poking down the right hand side with a screwdriver. I didn’t even manage to get the unit out, and later when i did, all the wires were still connected and there was nothing i could have hit with the screwdriver. I checked the fuses for these and they’re fine, could it be a relay?
Isn’t there an earth wire screwed to the metal brace, visible when the stereo is out?
Check the 10A “ROOM” fuse under the dash - this is what was causing these problems for me, all fixed now thanks to that one new fuse [:)]
