Friend has just purchased a NB. Any idea what the rack is worth?
More if it’s fitted the right way round

Worth hanging onto if one regularly travels to less accessible environs and might ever need to get a full size 16 inch wheel home…

TY Theo86, I regularly try and get to the four corners of these Isles and sometimes further, I read in STHT about someone having to abandon a punctured wheel in the middle of nowhere because the boot was not large enough to accomodate it and obviously their passenger was not to keen to be left at the side of the road

Correct.
I was touring UK so the boot was kinda spoken for.
A 14" fits if you take out the space saver.
2026 miles in 6 days. Dreadful reliability though.
It needed a lightbulb would you believe.
I had expected more.
And petrol…the cheek .

You can also use the spare wheel area for items, and squash a 15" wheel into the boot with room (to one side) to spare.
You might get £100 or so but like other comments it’s worth hanging on to. The MX5 isn’t noted for luggage carrying capacity and there’s always the option of carrying a spare wheel. Hang on to it.

I had a headlight bulb go too on my last trip up there 12 months ago. What is it with going to Scotland and light bulbs ?

When not needed my rack stores in a neat boot carpet recess, I keep all the fixtures and fittings in the little tool bag that came with the car for the wheel ‘brace’, trying not to laugh, anyone would think it was designed with MX-5’s in mind
