Hi, I have a Mark I Eunos that I have owned for about 12 years.
Recently the stereo has stopped working. Nothing at all.
I have taken the stereo out of the dash, checked the fuse on the back of the unit as well as checked the Cigar and Room fuses and both are fine.
A few months back the hood drainage holes (the ones behind the seatbelt towers) were blocked which resulted in an inch or so of standing water in both the footwells / under the seats. This was the time that the stereo stopped working. These have now been unblocked and the water removed.
I have tried another stereo that I know works and it doesn’t work either.
Are there any electronics under the seats / carpets that maybe have gone and caused the stereo to stop working?
If not, are there any hints as to what to do next?
Thanks in advance
Mark
My Eunos had headrest speakers so yes there were cables to those under the seats but I can’t see why that would stop the main unit from working. Is it single or double din?
Thanks for the response. It’s a double din: Sony WX-900BT.
The other unit that I tested was a single-din so that doesn’t seem to make a difference.
The double din was working for over a year before this happened

Water ingress as you describe would soak the ECU, so I hope you dried everything out including the connector plugs.
Should not affect the radio at all. If all fuses OK I would be looking to find where your 12 volt feed is failing to get to the unit. Usual suspect if the DIN connector plug which can come adrift. Radio should have 2 12 volt feeds - 1 for stored information that is permanently live and one that turns on with the ignition for radio use.
All the radio cabling, excluding speaker wires is at least 12 inches above the deck.
