and I can’t access PARK therefore I can’t take my key out, it’s probably a simple problem since we did strip the interior and putting it back now so we were down to just the one rod that link to the gearbox
Presuming the auto on an MX-5 is the same as on the Bongo from the same era, it won’t go into park without pressing in the side button on the shifter iteself. Also I seem to recall having to have the brake pedal down to the floor in the same way it won’t let you shift out of Park with it up, our Bongos’ battery has gone flat during lockdown so saying this from memory.
You may well already be doing that, but since you didn’t mention it I figured I’d add this reply.
yeah did that, but the thing is, I can’t go park because the “P” is actually Reverse, and after “P” there’s nothing, therefore I can’t launch into Park.
