Mazda MX5 Mark 3 Turbo Conversion.

I’m intent on having installed the BBR turbo convertion on my 2007 coupe cabriolet 2.0 Sport.

I’ve read most of the reports and reviews, and I am going for the GT 270 convertion.

Can any fellow poster advise a Mazda franchised dealer that will do this work, near

South Lancs if possible .

Failing this, I suppose I may have to bite the bullet and go to BBR. in Brackley, and use their

 " Drive In-Drive Out " facility.

This is a complex upgrade, albeit well proven. It would be crazy to risk having anybody but BBR do it.

Have they solved the manifold cracking?

Believe they engineered a new manifold though how that’s doing in service can only be commented by people running them I guess.

I doubt very much a main dealer will touch it for this.

The clue is in the name…BBR Turbo Conversion…

Personally I’d factor in a return train ticket home and leave the car with BBR for as long as they need it, that’s what I did when I had my car done by them. Neil is happy to run you to and collect you from the station and spending this kind of money you don’t want to put them under any kind of time pressure if they find anything unexpected.

I’m sure some dealers could do the work but when it comes to setting your car up on the dyno etc no one will be as good as BBR themselves.

Hi Richard, BBR now has over 150 NC turbo conversions installed with a further 5 being dispatched/fitted this coming week. BBR is proud to say that none of our clients have reported any manifold cracking issues.

Hi Prospero, thank you for your interest BBR would recommend installation at our base in Brackley as you are based in the UK. We supply a loan car free of charge whilst we carry out our conversion, due to work commitments most of our clients choose to drop their vehicles with us on a Saturday and collect the following Saturday. Please call us to discuss this further or to arrange a test drive in one of our BBR turbo NC MX-5s.
