Mazda MX5 Mk 4 Sat nav voice turn off / on

Hi!

I am hoping someone will be able to help… Following two very enjoyable test drives I am about to buy a MK4 MX5.

My query relates to the sat nav voice.

Firstly I don’t listen much to music whilst driving.

When it comes to sat nav use I currently use a Tom Tom Via which enables me to turn the voice off and on with one touch of the screen - something I find very handy.

I have downloaded the Mk 4 Satnav manual and it seems that to turn the voice off /on you need to delve into the settings menu - seemingly quite a journey and perhaps not advisable whilst driving!

Is there another way which is simpler and which can be done safely whilst driving?

I have spent some time exploring posts on this forum but haven’t found the answer - I may have missed it of course!!

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Robin

When sat nav voice comes on turn volume down till you can’t hear it anymore this will not effect music or radio volume! Hope that helps

Happy Monday,

Collected my new Ceramic MX yesterday and tried your suggestion today - Many Thanks - the voice did turn off but how do you turn it on again?? When I checked in the settings the sat nav voice was now showing as OFF.  Is there an easier way to get it back on again without going into settings again? Just turning the volume back on just brought the radio on.

Looking forward to enjoying this wonderful sports car!!!

Cheers

Robin
