Mazda MX5 ND Recaro seats on Ebay

Unless your a perfect fit for those leather seats you will find yourself holding onto the steering wheel more than you will like if you press on a bit.
I was p!ssed when my car didn’t have leather( and consequently heated seats). But now Ive driven a bit those cloth seat have a very nice ‘Velcro’ effect.

Good point, non leather would be better in a Recaro if you are somewhat ample.

Its a fair price given the cost from Mazda, but not a realistic one to resell. The only set I saw sell was years ago for £500, at the time I was debating buying them as a spare set and in hindsight should have snapped them up.

If he was selling the entire interior trim for £3000 then maybe they could be a bargain for someone who wanted to upgrade the lot.

That’s about what it would cost for a set of 30AE Wheels!

Yes, probably a lot more than if one bought a set new, but without the 30AE etching.
You’ll always get chances trying their luck. I just wish the public wouldn’t feed their bank balance.
KInd of connected, but I try to do my bit for the laughable food prices…yet someone the other day paid some absurd price for some hot chocolate in TESCO, despite moaning about the price of it to me lol If we don’t buy it it’ll soon go down.

You probably won’t be even more when your cloth ones don’t start chaffing and looking minging on the bolsters as time goes on. My cloths ones look showroom, after nearly 7 years.

They don’t look very comfortable.

Believe me, Recaro seats are extremely comfortable IF you fit them.

I was chatting to him on Ebay, they’re almost new out of a Homura, think a 22 or 24 plate he said.

Wrong colour stitching for me and yeah, no way would I pay anything more than 1,500 for a pair (which isn’t going to happen - yet). Someone daft enough will pay it. I’ve paid £500 to have my OEM pleather seats retrimmed in Alcantara instead. Combined with a CG lock they grip really well on track days for a fraction of the cost. If I really want the extra support I’d get a pair of new, proper fixed buckets with decent side support for a few hundred quid. Easy enough to swap the seats in and out - 4 bolts per side and a couple of plugs.

What did he replace them with?

It’s a breaker the one on ebay

Did you ask if he’s a comedian?

Who did you use for the retrim?

Given the expense of tracking, that’s a nice mod at a reasonable price. My TT has the classic centre panels in this material with the rest in leather. Despite being less than hugging seats you don’t get juggled about in the corners.

Love the idea of changing seats for a track day! Given the possible problems when you change out the road pads that could be a breeze?

Yeah piece of cake. Have to live with dashboard lights tho unless you sort the occupancy sensor out.

Pads are easy too, ive got brembos and they use clio mk3 pads.

Im lazy though and everything ive fitted to my car isnt hardcore but dual purpose.
