Metal glue

Does anyone have any experience of and can recommend a specific metal glue? I want to glue a metal bracket to the back of an aluminium belt buckle to hold a D ring to attach the belt to. The original cast aluminium holder part has broken off. It’s my favourite belt!

Give this a try below, seen a metal to plastic repair on YouTube work well. Does metal to metal too. Not used myself.

Araldite Metal Epoxy is very good

This?

Araldite 2-Part Rapid Epoxy Syringe, 24ml. Strong, Fast Setting Glue & Solvent-Free Adhesive Ideal as Ceramic Glue, Plastic Glue, Metal Glue, Jewellery Glue & Glass Glue. For Bonding & Repairs https://amzn.eu/d/cDmpFAS

+1 for the JBWeld.

I first used it in 2012 to repair the cast-ali safety guard on my DeWalt saw.
The fixing lug had a bubble flaw inside, and broke off; it was being held on by not much more than the paint!
Twelve years later having filled the ‘bubble’ with the glue it’s still perfect.

It doesn’t seem to go off in the tubes, and I’ve used the self-same pack for several other similar metal repairs years apart since, all are still sound.

Most recent in 2020 was an Armillary which did not survive transit from the manufacturer - insufficient brazing.
Here (on the Armillary ‘cup’ shown upside down) it’s the grey stuff glueing the ‘cup’ arms to the mounting column, and it replaces the hints of brazing. This way the “antique lacquer finish” is not damaged by me re-brazing it.

Here is the assembled Armillary (DeWalt in the background) a day later

and in the garden a week or so later.
