Everyone has a near identical render

More “spy” shots

So some of the test cars have a conventional steering wheel, some have a Yoke. I predict if Yoke makes it through to production, it will be an optional extra.

Looks like it has broken down in the third picture down

Or crashed. Was it a wet day, or has battery coolant leaked…

Still, isn’t this the point of road testing mules, to try and break them.

Still, why would the bonnet be up on a new car. If it had “stopped”, what is there for the test driver to touch, fiddle with. Assuming the layout is much the same as the MG4. Under the hood of a MG4, with the covers removed;

And the warning triangles; why couldn’t the car be pushed to the side of the road?

Well yes, it could of crashed. Is it not the case though that if an component of the controlling 12 volt system fails then the car can become immovable for a number of reasons, depending on what the system was controlling at the time of the failure? They may have the bonnet up to to see if it was a simple failure of the 12 volt system (such as a fuse). I also know that while being test driven “mules” quite often have a technician with dataloggers etc. sat alongside the driver. Anyway, whatever!

An ICE car with automatic transmission stuck in Park isn’t going anywhere. Nor a car with electric parking brake. Or the bonnet is up to hide the car from the watching traffic light grand prix start. Or there is a dead pap under the car and they are awaiting the Peelers to turn up. Or it means nothing, and people are willing MG/SAIC to fail. Maybe the photographer was working for another car maker and goes by the name of Richard Dastardley.

Looks pretty good, and quite distinctive…, till you see the front end. That swamps the whole car with blandness.

The “Venom” grill would make it stand out. Actually kind of hope they did something bold

Of course, we have been socially conditioned for over 100 years to expect a car with a grill or frontal opening. Perhaps that will be as anachronistic as bonnet ornaments, which are little more than something to replace the decorative radiator cap.

A whole new car accessory has emerged; the grill sticker for Teslas.

Remember how bland the ND looked when camoflaged prototypes took to the road back in 2014. It looked very bland

And under this lashup of slightly oversized plastic panels lay a Fiat 124 Spider.

And the mega thread when a camo’d ready ND was spotted in 2014. Lets say reactions weren’t 100% positive:

Confirmation, scissor doors and a clue about the boot

This looks to be pretty much a finished car.

More “leakages”

The photos clearly show cars with “yokes” and conventional steering wheels.

Not sold on the entire overall look, but scissor doors! I’m in for that alone.

Like the door handle.

Note, normal steering wheel, triple screen dash.

All finished in matt black to hide any detail. Probably will ned up with some body colour, some black and some chrome. Could look a whole lot different.

looks is one thing… its all about how it takes the corners.

One thing the MG4 has been praised for is its chassis and sporty handling. The Cyberster uses the same RWD modular platform (MSP).
