We can leave our cars in the museum car park whilst visiting the pub as it is just a 5 minute walk away and their pub car park is not overly large.
The museum tour will last for 2 hours and include 3x 20 minute talks. They feature an introduction about the history of the British Horological Institute, the museum and collection, followed by a guided tour of the exhibitions with time for questions at the end. Visits conclude with the opportunity to look around the remaining galleries. Group visits are usually led by the Museum Manager.
The tours cost £12 per person.
(The tours are subject to a minimum charge of £120 i.e. minimum of 10 people)
In order to minimise any delays entering the museum Ian will collect admission fees, via bank transfer if possible, in advance of the visit. Please send a text to Ian (07814956951) who will then provide bank account details.
Chock’s Away! Cafe are happy to provide the usual breakfast fayre and refreshments.
The Clockhouse Cafe and Tea rooms can accommodate around 20 people inside and also have outside seating (it’s going to be a sunny, warm and dry day isn’t it ?).
We have said that we’ll generally require tea/coffee/cake etc for us to purchase on arrival, around lunchtime. They do offer other light meals, if required, but it could take a while to prepare, as they run with minimal staff levels, and may slow down their service and cause queuing.
The Cross Keys village pub Their fayre is pretty much basic pub grub and we will need to pre-order in advance.
No deposit required.
We have been asked to choose a sample of their offerings in order to simplify ordering and help reduce serving times. We hope these will be suitable choices for us all.
