Mini Miata....Any model making fans?

Typical Xmas questions from family and whilst looking for ideas came across this 1:24 scale Tamiya MX5 ND.
Although the kit comes with a female driver (bit sexist) I managed to track down a driver kit so that the model could sport both of us . So…here she is…Last couple of pics I had to put with the Liberty Walk GTR I did back in the summer.

Very cool. Neat that you added the figures.
Is this you and your car?

I haven’t built that Tamiya kit but did build their Eunos roadster after I enjoyed the Aoshima NB when I was on furlough during lockdown 1.

Yeah I have to admit it’s me and the Mrs in the seats  I need to re-do the rear number plate. Started it , made a mess of it and now it needs re-painting.
Until I made the GTR last summer I hadn’t made a kit in about 20 odd years. So was good to do something I used to enjoy. Used to make all the kits and RC kits for the shop I worked in when I was younger. The pay was naff but was good fun being able to make up all the kits.

Cheers!
I said I would only do these two as they become dust collectors… but there’s a Supra and a Porsche I now want to do

Nice models!
I’ve built the Aoshima NB and have Tamiya NA and ND to build. I spent the same again as the ND to get resin RF conversion and Rays wheels to copy my AE30 - then Tamiya announced their own RF!

Yeah I see they do the RF now. I would have thought they would of just done one kit with both options inside. And shile they’re at it put in a male driver as well as a woman. was surprised as some of the parts on this kit too… usually Tamiya would have put the rear lenses as 1 piece…but doe some reason did the main rear lense (painted red) as one bit. And then the reverse lense separately! As you can imagine glueing clear parts is never easy and these were tiny! So ended up leaving them off…can’t tell the difference lol.

They avoided the sexism issue by omitting the driver completely in the RF kit! Instead you get optional Recaros and BBS alloys!

Ah thats fair enough. I was happy with mine as the Taniya Gun Metal is nigh on exact to the Machine Grey and with the black chrome alloys it’s all just colour coded. So I’m happy. There are lots of after market alloys to buy in the model world. I love looking on Kent Models website!
