My faithful Sony finally stopped responding to the Function button so it won’t do anything other than say it’s ready. I bought a JVC KD-X451DBT because I wanted the Bluetooth/Handsfree and a DAB+ radio. Fitted the aerial without too much trouble but when I plugged in the harness the error “Miswiring. Check wiring. Then Pwr on.” came up. Looking in the manual “Miswiring” suggests checking that the speakers are properly insulated. They are.
Anyone with any experience of this problem reading this?
Cheers.
Lots on the internet about this Bruce. It seems that a short anywhere in the speaker wiring is the usual cause.
It also mentions resetting the unit each time you change something to see if the problem has been resolved.
If you unplug the speaker harness from the back do you still get the error?
By speaker harness I don’t mean unplug the whole thing, just the 8 pin connector with the purple wires in it.
If the error disappears you can fault find by removing the pins from the speaker connector and then connect one set, test, connect the next set, test and repeat until the error returns.
The pins should be able to be removed using a thin screwdriver onthe tabs that hold the pins into the plastic

I cut the rear speaker wires - green and purple. Brutal but I couldn’t get the plugs out. That’s something I’ll have to learn. Sorted. Thanks for your help.
That is good news Bruce - so was the problem a short somewhere in the rear speaker wires?
