Miyako exhaust upgrade?

I recently purchased a 2010 Miyako roadster. I would like to hear your thoughts about fitting an exhaust with ‘sportier’ soundtrack…

Any suggestions?

Just fitted a Racing Beat back box. It’s quiet but makes all the difference.

I got my exhaust made so I could choose the sound I wanted and offer up several tail pipes until I got the one I wanted :slight_smile:

What I am looking for is that ‘pop’ when you come off the throttle…how can I achieve this?!

Depending on where you live, you could try Tony Banks in Leeds. They are excellent to deal with, get very good reviews and can pretty much tune the exhaust to make the noise you want. They also give you a lifetime guarantee on their work which is transferable to the next owner.

I have been considering a Cobra Sport Road exhaust for my 2.0 NC. Does anyone know where I can get to hear one of these? Seems all the footage on Youtube is for the NC Race type, not the Road type. Race type seems too loud for me but I do like the overrun crackle and pop.

I’ve got a 2011 nc2 and I purchased a s/s cobalt exhaust from mosseurope last weekend for a bargain price of £161 (Christmas sale)delivered to my door. It has a 5 year guarantee, saves weight looks the dogs and sounds really good not too loud but louder than stock. The exhaust was on ebay and not on their website I phoned them for some info on the system and they explained they are upgrading the web site (the reason it’s on ebay and not their site) but allowed my to purchase it which saved me £30.??

if you need any info give me a shout only problem is it doesnt pop on the over run.

Loving my PTR  Nice burble at idle, sporty at higher revs, and not intrusive (roof up or down) on the motorway. Brilliant quality too.

My cobra race sounds great and crackle pop does I also felt difference after it fitted car runs really smooth acceleration is great love it ??

Hi, well I fitted a Cobra Sport Road type back box in the end. Really pleased, loud enough but not intrusive or too boy racer. Gives a nice crackle/popping sound on overrun too. Very happy, good quality and looks good with the standard TP38 four inch tail pipe ends fitted. Would recommend to anyone.

Strangeley it has a lifetime warranty only for the purchaser, guess it is then void if I sell the car. They must assume people won/t keep the car more than 3 to 5 years.

Anyone know if the Cobra will fit a 2014 mk 3.5 ? Fancy the road version if I can persuade the Mrs!

Yes it will, it comes in sections, centre box, pipes and tips which gives you adjustments to ensure a good fit.

I fancy the race louder version, I know it’s a difficult question to answer but how loud is it, and would it be ok for track day, my racing beat is nice but just to quiet
