Hi
Has anyone had experience of trying (and hopefully succeeding) to remove the rear bumper off a mk 1. I want to change the skin (cover) but it looks like i have to remove the entire bumper.
Any tips and advice welcommed.

2 bolts at each end bolted to quarter panels usually philipps head just in front or the top rear mudflap fixing and the remove the number plate surround(a few 10m bolts in the boot area itself and two plastic squeezy clips ) incl number plate itself as there are two screws under it then pop up the ten or so plastic grommets (or unscrew them if you can but usually wont unscrew as they are plastic heads so just pop them up .After thta there are about 5 similar clips on the bottom of the bumper .IT just comes away after that leaving the bumper reinforcer behind
Yes as above really, and well described.
I removed mine when I needed to get at that reinforced piece behind the bumper skin
