Am I right in thinking the mk1 uses some kind of plastic trim over the door frame around the windows? On my 97 1.8i it seems to have gone missing (years ago to be fair) on the front of drivers door to reveal dull paintwork. The passenger side has a sort of plastic surface all around the window. I’ll post a photo if I find a tuit. Coming up to starting its 10th year in my ownership and if I can coax it through the MoT again I might try to improve the cosmetics a bit (like the rusty windscreen wiper arms!).
