Helllo,
I would like to respray my stone chipped front bumper. I need to remove the badge to do a proper job.
How is it fixed? Can I gently lever it from the front, Or is it fastened on the rear?
Appreciate if anyone has done this already
-Steve
Hi Steve, you don’t say which car but I guess it will almost certainly be chromed plastic fixed with sticky pad type adhesive. If so slide a length of dental floss behind it and saw it to and fro. Warming with a domestic hairdryer (not a hot air gun) may also help.
Hi Rich, thanks for taking time to reply
It is an 03 mk2.5 sport, and yes chrome / plastic emblem
I wondered if it had pins or studs going through. I will heat it gently and be able to get it of now.
Use a good double sided tape to put it back I think?
The 2.5 Badge has four pins on the back that locate into the bumper and if original should have some spire clips behind the bumper holding it in place along with the double sided tape.
Geoff,
Good job you know! 'Else I would have broken them off. Many many thanks for your intervention. ![Laughing Laughing]()
So to release the badge it is a front bumper off job then? I don’t think my arm will reach up inside there.
