MK 4 / ND Roof liner detaching from rear window

Thought I’d report a fairly annoying issue we’ve got with our car.

 

Every time we put the roof down, the inner roof liner detaches from the top of the rear window, which makes it sag down further reducing the rear visibility when you put the roof back up.

 

It’s fiddly, but we are able to hook it back in with a bit of effort.  (My wife seems to have found a knack to it, though I’ve failed the last few times.)

 

Apparently (on Pistonheads) there’s a bulletin for it, and our car is booked in on the 19th to get it addressed, though the garage didn’t seem to be aware of the issue.

 

Just sharing in case anyone else runs into it.

Thanks, that’s really useful. I’ll ring and let my dealer know that so they’re ready for when I bring it in.

Mine is an SE-L built 6th November and I don’t have the problem.

I don’t even know what its for - I would think that it’s just to pretty up the interior rather than soundproofing.

Just make sure they have the new clips in stock first as nothing else worked for mine.
