The ‘Wiltshire’ Run weekend will be Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th June.
Starting at Hartwell Nurseries, near Aylesbury, Assembly at 09:30, Briefing 09:45, Departure 10:00.
This is an opportunity to experience a great social weekend with multiple car runs, lunches, and site seeing.
The beautiful Marlborough area of Wiltshire is now home to former active Milton Keynes & Chilterns Area members, Val & Terry Simpson and Judith & Alastair Sheen. Still actively enjoying their MX-5’s, they would like to invite the current MK&C area members to enjoy the local hospitality and experience the stunning Wiltshire countryside for themselves.
However, attendance for the whole weekend isn’t compulsory. For example, alternative options could be; Saturday am, Saturday am & pm, or the complete weekend.
The current weekend programme is as follows:
Saturday am; a run to a local Wiltshire pub (the Blackhorse in Cherhill) for lunch.
Saturday pm; a run to the small village of Calne.
Afternoon Tea in Calne, and to view Terry’s collection of Car memorabilia
Book in at the local accommodation to Freshen up
For those staying overnight, there will be an evening meal option in Marlborough on Saturday evening
Sunday am; a run (eastwards) to a pub for Sunday lunch (venue tbc)
Sunday pm; individuals make their own way home ,or an onward journey
Note: Car runs will be between 1.5 and 2 hours in duration
Overnight accommodation options; There are a number of Premier Inns in the locality. e.g. Chippenham, Marlborough, Swindon and Newbury.
Current price options appear to favour Marlborough.
