Thanks for the feedback, I need to schedule where/when I will tackle this job.
The carpet set is designed to be installed without the need to remove the dashboard (it says in the instructions) however they do say to cut the old carpet to get it out. Two days to do the job means an indoor task. I like that idea, it can air the cabin between the swap out.
The old red carpets are faded and worn, they probably smell too but as I mostly drive with the hood down I don’t know if there actually is an odour. I will save the old carpets to use as a template just in case I don’t like the refurbished look/feel.
Has anybody used Newton Commercial to recover their high back leather seats? My Mk1 is a limited edition (1,000) and has red cabin interior, the seats have speakers in the headrest and a base speaker in the seat.
