Hi All,
Just purchased two electric mirrors for my gLtd. Unfortunately the drivers side is missing its glass and backing plate and I am being told that these parts can’t be purchased.
Anybody had this problem and is there a solution, other than buying another mirror?
Any help gratefully accepted.

They can’t be purchased separately by Mazda part number. The mirrors are only listed as complete assemblies. You can swap the glass and holder from another mirror, it’s what I did. Warm the plastic of the holder before gently removing the mirror glass. Take extreme care not to break the glass, they’ll be 2 strips of white sticky stuff holding the glass to the holder too. A screw and clips then secure the holder to the mirror motor assembly.
Thanks for the info, it is as I thought just a matter of getting hold of 2nd hand spare parts. How did you get yours, is it just a case of searching eBay until you find a suitable ‘broken’ unit with an intact mirror, or a complete unit at a reasonable price?

I got a complete good unit for a bargain price from a breaker. Wrong colour so I swapped mirror across.
Forum member Robert Meguire had one for sale when I was looking for mine last year.
Yes I will try that as well.
Many thanks

try wingmirrorshop.co.uk or wingmirrorman.co.uk I have no experience of either, but could be worth a look.
