I did try a search but could not get what I was looking for.
I have found the the stats for the MK1 1.8i engine
BHP: 131
Top Speed: 123
0-60: 8.6sec
Cylinders: 4
Valves: 16v
Torque: 114 lbs/ft
Fuel Consumption: 31mpg (combined)
Kerb Weight: 1020kg
Fuel Tank Capacity: 48litres
C02: 216 g/km
Does anyone know the details of the early 1.6's and the later less powerful version?
Thanks

Most of that sort of information can be found on miata.net ; you will need to adjust mpg figures to allow for differences in US vs Imp. gallons. Fizzindi I think also has picked up some data from the old mailing list.
Oh, and you did know there are two different 1.8 Mk1 engines? 93-95; 125ish hp, 95-97; 131.
Data for Eunos Roadsters you will need to dig about for; mostly these will be similar to equivalent UK and US models, but post 1996 cars had different gearing, so the 0-60 times and unrestricted top ends are affected.
Plus the Wikipedia article on MX5 is pretty good too. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_MX-5#First_generation_.28NA.29
The 1.6 MK1 early engine was around 120 bhp as far as I know:
" The original MX-5 came with a 1.6 L (98 cu in) dual overhead cam inline four-cylinder engine , producing 90 kW (120 bhp) at 6,500rpm, and 136 N·m (100 lbf·ft) of torque at 5,500rpm. The engine employs an electronic fuel injection system using a vane-type air flow meter and a camshaft angle sensor instead of a distributor . [6] This engine, codename B61P , had been previously used in the 323 series . "
Early mk1 1.6 has been often reported 114bhp to 116bhp - 120bhp is a bit optimistic.

But mine has fury dice and chrome window washer jets surly that adds another 6 horse power!
Maybe I’ll paint it red, red ones go faster right?
Yep and im sure go faster stripes add a good few ponys as well lmao
Mine goes up by 10bhp after a good clean (well it feels like it)

Does as anyone know the C02 rating for a 1990 1.6 Eunos please? I need it for my expense claim!
Thanks.
According to the data sheet on autotrader it is 202grams / kilometer.
hope that helps.
As to the earlier posts on power output the UK spec 1.6 was 86 kW (115 bhp) at 6,800 rpm, and 136 N·m (100 lbf·ft) of torque at 5,500 rpm
but the Jap spec had a 9.4:1 compression ratio and produced 120 hp (90 kW) at 7,100rpm and 100 ft·lbf (136 N·m).
