Hi folks, looking for a wee bit of advice on my 1993 Mk1 Eunos S Special. I had a rattle from underneath which sounded like a loose exhaust baffle, however upon jacking the car up I can see that it is the metal plate under the central section of the exhaust which is causing the rattle – see photo, it’s the part between the 2 arrowheads, and the rattle is coming from the front of it (x marks the spot!). Looks like a heat shield however it’s UNDER the exhaust so isn’t really shielding anything from the heat apart from the road surface! Can anyone tell me its purpose, and can I just remove it?
