Are there any recommended headlights for the MK1? I’ve got standard 7" halos that I bought on Amazon but the fitment is atrocious and it’s been nothing but a chew on. Additionally, are there any that a truly plug-n-play without the need for additional wiring? The ones I have require wiring into the other lights for the halo effect. Would love to know what people suggest!
LED are illegal on a MK1. Use a unit with a clear glass on a clever reflector, like the Raybrig
Aren’t LED bulbs non compliant if they are in a headlamp unit designed for incandescent bulbs, rather than illegal on a Mk1 ?

Mine are E marked replacement glass units, search on eBay usually under 7" LED Land Rover. For example
I bought DOT marked, like these; others don’t specifically mention.
It is a bit grey, but the legislation says the units have to be fitted by the manufacture
It’s been through 4 mot’s with no comments so far! 
Did you have a hard time getting these headlights to fit in the casing? I’ve had a real chew on trying to make them fit! Had to file down the sides to make it easier.
One of the lights didn’t want to fit easily, the dent in the car headlight surround was just too small for part of the headlamp unit. The other side fitted with no problem. I seem to remember brute force and ignorance assisted in the fitting.
