Hi guys, I’ve just bought a ‘92 Eunos Roadster which is completely bone stock and all the interior is absolutely standard from ‘92 featuring a bulky cassette and CD player. I want to upgrade this to a newer radio style that I can at least Bluetooth my phone to. Anyone done anything similar and got any advice or systems they can advice? One thing I looked at was doing all of the Tombstone and centre interior with parts for Jass performance but not sure how that works with radios that would fit alongside it. Thanks,
Nathan
I replaced the original CD/radiocassette with a standard single DIN size radio and a cubby hole like this one: https://www.mx5parts.co.uk/radio-cubby-mk1-p-119.html
I didn’t like the idea of the new radio standing proud of the tombstone so I folded up a bracket out of thin aluminium sheet so I could copy the original side brackets and have the radio mounted like that instead of fixed to the tombstone itself. That did also mean trimming down the radio’s clip on surround finishing panel to fit inside the hole and fill the gap around the edges of the pop-off front panel, but the result is quite neat with the radio sitting flush instead of protruding.
You can get a vintage look radio with bluetooth like this . . . .
That’s an inexpensive unit you linked to Jeff with the silver finish, it would fit well with the Jass add ons too!

Actually, I saw this months ago on a chinese site and wanted to buy it as it would look good in my Eunos, when I revisited it after the OP post, I ordered one - for £16 you cant go wrong really. Will review it and post in the MOds section when it’s fitted. I may change the chrome facia to matt black to fade into the overall tombstone colour. Much better than the Sony unit in there at the moment, I feel. Hope this post helps the OP to decide . . . .
Current view
We replaced ours with a double-din JVC which worked fine
Hi
Re old post on ICE upgrade. Did you ever get the £16 unit from China? And did you post info or pic of it
Thanks
Steve
Didn’t fit it. Looked the part but rubbish reception, basically unless you were in a strong reception area, it dropped out a lot. Charity shop got it.
