How many members still have their original MK1 ?
am i the only one who still has a 1990 that we have owned since new
complete with the delivery note and complimentary book from Mazda UK
Has been Sorned for the last 5yrs but just about to be recommissioned-can’t wait to use it again

A chap not far from me still has his car that he bought new on 14th March 1990, so the day they went on sale over here. It is one of the first 500 UK models. I did try to buy it but he won’t sell.

From memory I think it was mid 60k
I brought my first MX5 in November 1997; it was a fresh-off-the-boat 1992 Eunos Roadster in silver stone, which the Japanese owner had tastefully modified with 15" Panasports, RS*R 4-2-1 manifold, Fujitsubo FGK exhaust and Mmm’s K&N intake. It was written off in 2000 after being stolen. raced. crashed, torched after a MX5OC meeting. Within a couple weeks, SAz9826 was replaced by SAZ9961, a late 91 S-Special in classic red, leading to 5 years of happy motoring. In 2005, I replaced that with N557OGH, reborn as SAZ9961, a 1996 montego blue S-Special 2. Along the way, it competed for a spot alongside K667EJB, an exceptionally rare M2-1002 AND k843jjn, a S-Limited that was well known on the car shows circuits. Ultimately, both lost to SAZ9961, which I still have. So 28 years of continuous NA ownership.
