MX-5 Mk1 - I’m looking at installing the original Panasonic radio/tape desk to the car. Connected the radio to the original wiring looms and body is earthed. These were extended to an after market stereo that worked fine.
Sound coming from speakers is hardly audible.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know.
What source is the sound coming from? Tape or radio?

Thanks for coming back to me, it comes from both. When the volume is on full you can hardly hear it from the door and headset speakers.
Is the little round plug in the back of the radio? That should be fitted if you don’t have the optional CD player. If that is missing you won’t get any volume. Here’s pictures of one.
