Mk1 Temic Immobiliser HELP

Hi,

Some help please. I have a Mk1 96 UK 1.6 Roadster.

This came standard with an OE Temic immobiliser linked to the ECU (ECU model number B6HB)

1st Question - So can anyone tell me how these units are meant to immobilise my car?

I assume if the key transponder is not recognised then the Temic unit ‘talks’ to the ECU and prevents it from operating and the engine starting? is this correct.

I have a Mk1 with no Spark, fuel pump runs and main relay clicks in.

But I don’t have continuity between one of the CAS signal wires and the ECU.

The wire in question is the White wire at the CAS connector and ECU port 2E (interestingly at the ECU post 2E the white is white and blue) all the diagrams I have seen show a straight connection between the CAS and Port 2E will a white wire at port 2E.

2nd Question - is this colour change related to the installation of the TEMIC unit?

Many Thanks

Not sure on the wiring issue but we may have the temic /ecu and matching key if you need it.

Rob,

Thank you for your help, very helpful and professional .

car now runs, another Mk1 saved!

A pleasure John - not going to let Rob Maguire take credit for this:-)

Second MK1 1.6 in three days with no fuel and spark, no diagnostic light and no security light on dash. The same issue that kept my 1997 MK1 1.6 off the road for around 4 months about 7/8 years ago - faulty Mass Air Flow sensor.

Great to see it worked out anyway…

To many ROB’s
