Mk1 vr ltd "wheels"

Hi All

Are the original wheels for a MK1 MX5 VR Ltd wheels easy to come buy , I have been looking but can’t seem to see any for sale …

Any clue what what I may have to pay , ie is there a premium these wheels when they come up… ?

Any opinion much appreciated .

Except for the plastic centre caps, they were identical to the Enkei wheels fitted to late 97 UK 1.8iS models. This design of wheel was also prone to cracking; the same design was used in the US, and cracking has been reported.

I never cease to be amazed at the depth of knowledge on this Forum. There’s little that can’t be answered. It really is a fabulous resource.

I think as factory wheels go, they weren’t the best. The 15" 5-spoke Enkei came in at 14.5lbs, compared to the 15" factory BBS at 12lb. It was heavier than the Mk2 original 15" wheel, which was 13.1lbs.
