I am looking for some relatively inexpensive seat covers for my MK2.5 - I saw some very nice leather covers on the MX5 parts website but I don’t want to pay £200 for a set!
I guess at the around £50 level it might have to be universal fit ones.
Has anyone fitted some cheap ones and been pleased with the result?
I am trying to reduce wear and tear to my original fabric seats, they still look pretty good after 15 years use with no tears or holes etc and I want to try and keep them that way!
Thanks!
It might be that you just get a couple of waterproof nylon universal ones that are exactly what they look like, universal
over the years I’ve attempted various universal types on different cars and not had much success ![]()

Years ago I brought a set of cheap covers for my Polo, to hide a hole in the upholstery. They were cheap, beige and terrible.
Moss sell the Okole seat covers; not exactly £50, but good quality:

There was a company (Serious Auto), since gone bust, that came up with a very neat low cost way to protect seat bolsters from wear; the “seat saver”.

The seat saver fitted behind the middle cushion, and connected at the back.
Then there were Seat Caps, to protect the headrest

Thanks folks
Ive just done a few google searches and cant see any neoprene covers for sale
I like the look of those bolster protectors - shame that they are not sold any longer
Found a similar product, that covers 1998-05 MX5s, the “Auto Chap”:
