mk2 and mk2.5 parts interchangable?

My mk2 in eternal red is suffering from a bad case of peeling lacquer on the paintwork shown as a rash on all upper surfaces, the worst panels are the bonnet, bootlid, wingmirrors and front bumper which is even peeling due to wind and rain while in motion. It seems to be a factory finish as the paint is thin and there is no sign of overspray.

I bought the car in this condition as it had done 53k miles and 2000 reg with 2 previous owners, both women. It seemed neglected with partial service history and a shabby look. It was in need of TLC. The first job was to change the scuffed rear bumper for a mk2.5 one which was  a great fit. The mk2.5 car had done a much higher millage than mine, and was being scrapped, which was evident by the rusty state of the metal brackets within the bumper, my brackets were fairly rust free.

I also bought a bonnet a front bumper and 2 front wings from the same car. Took my bonnet off and put on the 2.5 bonnet, it did’nt fit ,I had a good look at the front bumper and it looked slightly different in a few places around the headlights in particular . Does anyone know if the wings and front bumper will fit?

Will the mk2.5 doorcard fit a mk2 door and are the seats the same fit.

Has anyone tried car wrapping to cover bad paint finish?

Thanks for looking.

The front wings will fit. I think the bumper is different.

The seats will fit, the door cars will probably fit depending on electric windows or not.

Is it the bumper different around the headlights on the Mk2.5, apart from the mouth/air intake shape? So hence the bonnet won’t fit, not sure though.

The door cards will fit on a Mk2 from a 2.5 although a little fettling around the inner door handle is needed and re drilling of the securing screws x2

Seats as said are a straight swap as is the centre console also.
