i’ve come back to an mx5 after selling my galaxy grey 1.8 some years ago missed it loads
I’ve bought a kendo edition mk3.5 and there are a couple of marks on the steering wheel silver trims which i want to sort out. I really like the look of the wheel with black trims but i cant seem to find anything about them online. All i can find is the chrome stick on ones Mx5 parts sell.
Any ideas where i can get them?id rather not resort to sanding and painting. Picture below to reference what i’s after
Hi Brad, think your only option is to prep and paint? Or, as I did, get the chrome trims? It would be easier to get them, paint them and install. That way, no dismantling of the wheel required? They are a very good fit I have to say? Another member on here has a green NC and has colour coded the wheel bits to match? Sorry, can’t remember who it is?
I was thinking about the chrome ones painting them would make it easier for sure.
I can’t decide if they would protrude out the wheel to much as they just stuck over the existing trims so didn’t want it to look daft.
Will have a good read on that link. I did find royal steering wheels, which maybe an option. My cars my current daily transport for work so have to figure out how I get the wheel to them etc
Thank you for this just had a quick read before i leave work, sounds like i could get a cx7 wheel or paint myself. I’m going to be changing the wiper stalk soon so may just combine that with painting/ fitting these
thats something else i need to consider do i wrap the car in the same green as yours?, i absolutely love that colour! if i do i will have to do the dash and the trims to match too.
Royal steering wheels, they have several options, one being they will sort one of their wheels and send it out to you? Once replaced, you send your old wheel back to them? A lot less down time that way? I would love to get mine done? A chap with a new RF was at the bunch of fives meet on Sunday? He had his new wheel (not fitted) which looked amazing? Smooth and perforated leather, flat bottom, thicker rim and thumbgrips? It was from a company in Poland IIRC. Nto sure of the name? Regards the chtrome trims, they are quite thin and don’t stick out like you might imagine? Thin doesn’t mean poor quality either?
Thanks Bettabuilda i’m going to contact them for a price on a swap out scenario as you described. It’s certainly the best option for me, plus i need some prices too haha
Just seen the other thread too, nice to see other people recommend them, looks like a few people have had their wheels done by them
I’m waiting for my wheel to return from Royal. Perforations on the sides, smooth top & bottom, thumb grips with red stitching. About two weeks turnaround @ £205 (plus the £11 it cost me to send it over. As excited as an excited thing.
