Mk3 double din stereo, bose

Hi all,

I just purchased a new (to me) 2007 nc, so im new here, but im considering replacing the bose stereo unit with a new pioneer SPH-DA120 but im unsure as to what i need in addition to the.

from my understanding and research i need these two items along with the cover plate which i already have

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/install-adaptors/mazda/mx5/connects-2-ct53-mz01-mazda-bose-active-iso-adaptor

could anybody tell me if these are the correct parts or if i need anything else to make it work?

Thanks in advance

Hi Daniel,

I’ve just done this in my Bose equipped NC1 but fitted an Xtrons android unit.

I used the following:

http://www.connects2.co.uk/Product/ProductItem/CTKMZ02 This what you have above but this includes the facia etc.

I used a universal steering wheel interface lead but I guess you will need this

http://www.connects2.co.uk/Product/ProductItem/CTPIONEERLEAD

As I have Bose I needed the a universal ISO lead(well half of it) to bridge the gap in the CTKMZ02 due to the drop down resistors (black heat shrink covered cable you have above), not sure why Connects2 don’t include this.

I got mine from Halfords but this is similar and cheaper

I bought everthing off Ebay except the ISO lead as I didn’t realise i needed it until halfway through the install so went to Halfrauds.

Any further questions please ask.

PS. I assume yours is Bose so don’t forget to connect the blue wire to an ignition 12v if not the Bose amp won’t power up, my Xtrons unit had an 12v amp power wire which I connected, not sure what your unit will have.

Would have been polite of you to acknowledge my assistance!

Hello,

I have also just purchased a 2007 new ( to me) 2.0 NC Roadster Coupe.

Can i presume that the Bose Audio Unit has Bose badges on it and the Standard unit looks the same but without the badges ?

Reason for asking is that i am also going to fit an aftermarket Radio, however i believe there are Bose and non-Bose adaptor wiring harness available.

Edit Post:

Sussed it , The Audio controls in the standard unit (like mine) don’t have the Bose Audio Pilot ambient noise sensing setting, just the ALC.

Not that you can actually hear and sound from the Stereo whilst driving these cars, unless volume is set to REALLY LOUD !

A Bose headunit clearly says Bose on it
