Just bought a Mk3
When I viewed it yesterday I noticed that it was hard work pulling the roof back the last 2 inches to the windscreen to lock the catch.
Is that normal or is there a technique I need to learn (like making sure the windows are down?)
If a hood has been folded a long time and perhaps under a hard top it can be awkward to fasten I really struggled with mine this spring but it got better with use
Did you lower the windows a little ?
Lower both windows or open the doors. Found this out with my NC
Also, if it’s cold then the material will be a bit stiffer. You’ll notice the difference when you have the car out on a warm day. You want it a little tight so it keeps the material taut.

Yes Pete, I was happy that it was tight/taut and prefer it this way. It would be easier if I was left handed!!!
On a Mk3 you do need to lower the windows or leave the doors open.
Ditto on the windows.
Annoying, but less so, once you get in to the habit.
