mk3 longlife exhaust

Just wondering has anybody had a longlife exhaust fitted on they mk3 if you have any photos would be great and also a price thanks

Not the answer you’re looking for but: -

10 years ago I had a bespoke cat back stainless steel exhaust made for my wife’s Terrano by a company called “Longlife”. I think at that time they had four branches in the south of England. I used the branch near Bristol. This cost £4 more than the main dealer part and is still in good condition.

At the same time there were ready-made exhausts made by a different company also called “Longlife”. The feedback I read on these exhausts was not too good but that was years ago and for a different vehicle.

Richard.

They’re long life as standard aren’t they? Ours is over 8 years old and fine and I’ve not heard of any rusting out prematurely. There are usually plenty of good used back boxes on eBay for £40 as some folk swap them out for noisier ones.

Longlife is a franchise and they have installers all over the uk. I’ve read nothing but good reviews for them. They allow you to choose how you want it to sound and look before they build it and I got quoted about 300 for a cat-back system and an extra 100 for a new cat on my mk2. That’s including installation. Haven’t got it yet so no pictures I’m afraid

they’re made with t304 ss and come with a transferable lifetime garuntee so they must be confident of their quality…

Had one fitted to my MkI just before Christmas, it was actually cheaper to have one made and fitted by Longlife here in Swansea than buying one from MX5 Parts or other parts suppliers and fit it myself.

No contest!

I’m very happy with mine and they will offer you a choice of 5 different notes too, mine is a 2, (1 being standard), and it is just about right for me.
