Hi, is it possible to connect an mp3 to a standard fit mk3 head unit. I notice there is no visible jack, whereas the mk 3.5 has a jack. Thanks.
You can fit this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Connect-iPhone-Player-connector-adapter/dp/B006FFCONA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1387395162&sr=8-1&keywords=mazda+aux
It’s a simple way of plugging in your ipod or phone/device that has a 3.5mm jack socket.
To connect it to you head unit read the reviews on it in the link, it explains how to get to the connection at the rear of the head unit.
You can get an Autolink device that plugs into the rear socket of non mp3 units where an autochanger unit woulfd plug into.
I have one that I’m not using that your welcome to try.
Where abouts in gods country are you? I’m near Hull if you want to collect it and try it.

Or I have one for sale HERE (cheap) with some other Mk III parts.
This also simply plugs into the CD changer port in the rear of the Head.
I used to keep the iPod in the glove box, the lead keeps the unit charged and you can still use the steering wheel controls…all with no cables/iPod in view.
Cheers
