Woa what’s happened to my text Mods?
When the Yokos that came on my Mk3 wear down I am switching to Toyos
Well a good choice - I have an S6 and I have Toyos on that and they beat the hell out of the Pirelli’s that the car came with and the F1s that I replaced those with. What I have learnt over the years is that each vehicle suits different tyres. The new F1s are great on my 2.8 Injection Special Capri but CRAP on the Audi. Drop an email when you have done the deed and let me know how they are.
CLIVE
Put
Toyo Proxes T1-R on my Mk3. Done about 5,000 miles on them so far without any problems but not sure that they’re quite as grippy in the dry as the Michelins were.
Replaced the Michelins on my 2007 Mk3 with Proxes. Feels much more “planted” and DSC much less in evidence despite damp roads at this time of year.
Hi Clive Toyos here as well, when I had them on the S3 I swear I could have driven it on the ceiling.
I put them on at 23,000 ish before the drive to Spain, swapped them front to rear at 6,000. Not sure I will get 23,000 out of them, will keep you posted.
Hi Guys - well Toyos are the choice then!!!
Hi All.
I have a 2006 MK3 as well. Currently have Yoko A11A’s on (standard I believe). But they really don’t grip at all in the wet and they’re getting pretty dangerous out there.
Would you recommend the Toyo Proxes T1-R.
My tyre size is 205/50/R16 currently.
Regards
James
I’ve had T1-R’s on my last 3 cars… excellent. Got them here

Can anyone tell me the size of tyres on the 17" sport wheels?
I had the Toyos after the Michelins - far grippier, but wore out very quickly. Now on Bridgestones - a compromise between grip and wear - still far better than the Michelins.
205/45 R17
How do the Toyo’s fit on the rims? as in do they fit so the rim is protected slightly…
These are the correct size tyre on my RX8 and they were quite stretched… meaning I kerbed one [:@]
