Mk4 for ~£8000?

Mk4 for eight grand at British Car Auctions?

Well, it’s not £8k. That’s a guide so you won’t know what it will go for.
Also, there’s BCA fees on top which is £650 ish on c£8k hammer price.

That would retail for £12k during the summer.

In my humble experience CAP Clean valuation is a fairly reliable guide to how much a grade 2 car with decent service history will go for.
When I bought my Mégane RS 265 Trophy from BCA for £15000 the buyer’s commission was £600.
So I think we can expect the commission on a £8000 purchase to be appreciably less than £650.
Incidentally my purchase was as a private buyer; a trade account would have paid significantly less than the mentioned £600.
That Mk4 has the look of a winter bargain, subject to any gearbox vagaries having been resolved.

£8k hammer price is £648 buyers fee.
