I mounted the Olixar device, bought a power lead (one end needed to be a Lightning plug) and fitted my iPhone 7plus. Went for a drive and the volume is almost useless even when turned up to the maximum. Found some guidance on YouTube so went to Settings, followed the advice and it’s no better. So I either dig out my old GPS or rely on maps. Why does life have to be so complicated?
Please may we re-awaken this for 2024. I too want to abandon my old Tom-Tom and just use mobile phone with Google Maps, and I’d like to fix to top of dash area. It’s not pretty but did this temporary bodge just before setting off for Urope 18 months ago and aside from replacing a couple of elastic bands it does for holding the phone to navigate.
Thank you; certainly a cost effective and efficient phone holder but as you say prettiness was not included in your design brief and as I need this mounted in direct line of sight so I can use phone as SatNav, I think I’ll pass for now and the search continues . . .

I use this on my NBFL and it works perfectly, and causes no permanent damage or marks.
If you don’t want something attached to the vents, I’d go for a Brodit vehicle specific mount. Then attach a suitable holder to it.

Stick one of these on your dash and use whatever phone holder suits you. They can be removed if you ever want to.
