Any chance of a photo of your “drop links” so we can see what the tester has seen?
All 4 drop links are brand new
It might be worth sending a photo to the MoT shop and see if they might want to revise the advisory. I went around a similar loop with my provider recently, where the advisories were just not true.

My thought was similar, to drop back to the garage and get the tester to show you what the issue is.
If they are ‘advising’ it would be good to know how to go about correcting the issue…

If the drop links were not the reason for failure they would not have been examined on the free retest, only the actual failure items are reviewed / tested.
If you want the advisories removed then you need to pay for a complete test from scratch. They should disappear at the next test though.
I initially thought that the drop links were a failure, but from reading the thread again it was obviously something else. Sorry.
