Not really motorsport in the true sense, but MoT’s Car Control Days are back, this time at Rockingham.
These days came about because a certain member of this club put their car in a ditch one night, or his wife did, on a roundabout on the A43. It was very apparent at the time that many motorists first experience of a skid was about 2 seconds before they crashed. Not the ideal time for a first experience and certainly the end result can be avoided if drivers are better prepared.
I am not going to call this a course as it is very much down to you what you want to learn and how you drive but it is set up so that you can experience both understeer and oversteer in safety and over the course of the day you will learn to understand what they are, what causes them, how to understand the feed back from the car that will warn you of the onset and what to do when these states occur and potentially save your self a big bill or worse. On top of all this, it is a huge laugh and guaranteed fun. Many club and MX-5 owners have been on these events, some many times, all leave smiling.
