Mot fail on all front suspension dust covers

Has anyone else had a fail like this? It seems a bit strange that they should all fail at the same time [anti-roll bar both sides track rod end and all suspension arms both sides]. The examiner said it was a new ruling this year. Does anyone know where i can get the dust covers for the anti-roll bar and the track rod ends, tried MX5 Parts but they are out of stock and will not be getting them in for another two weeks

Yes, lots of people. As he says, they must now be intact to pass, whereas until this year they didn’t matter. So they were probably all knackered last year too.

 Yep, almost caught me out out. My track rod end dust covers have been split for years, and I wasn’t going to bother until the joints wore. However, the new ruling meant bringing the job forward. I just did the dust boots as the joints are still fine.

Got mine from MX5Parts, so can’t help with sourcing. If you’re doing them yourself, then I do recommend the tool from the club for fitting the new covers.

Now i know why they are so hard to get hold of. Managed to pick them up at Autolink.com.

 I got 2 track rod ends and 1 btm wish bone ball joints from Euro car parts approx 51 squid then found out I could get rubber boots from my mazda dealer I did how ever need top suspension ball joint boots which I got from my mazda dealer for 7.26 each
