No advisories.
Had some remedial work done prior…couple of leaks.
Not me, the Mk1
Decent result for an old boiler.
Not me again…the car.

6th in a row…
Congratulations Robin !
wearing well !
Really, really nice car and deserves to be kept as such, which i’m sure you will.
I will.
His days of getting beaten up & caned daily are done after the restoration.
Dry hood down distance glen “touring” runs only now.
With appropriate amounts of kick-down.
He’s done his job.
good result - the 1st MOT in my ownership is not due until April - fingers crossed for a similar result although i do need to do some jobs first
Will be 29 years old then - although i still struggle to think of these cars being that old!
Superb looking 5
Judging from the background you’ve had a high tide there too
Looks great btw
Eeeek
Oh…hold on…it’s actually gravel!
That’s the trick lost on people sometimes.
I nose to tail the car prior to MOT as far as possible, but I’ve dealt with the same garage for 20 years. We have a great understanding that they go through it nose to tail prior to test and fix issues before hand. A dodgy brake pipe…whatever. Up to £100.00 before they bother calling me. This might include a bottle of Forte Fuel stuff and an “Italian Tune Up” before the gas (decatted) test.
The logic is…why record a Fail when it’ll just be fixed later for a retest anyhow? Pointless and does not look good on the DVLA site either.
This is all very well only… if you have such a long relationship.
Both our old 5s have an electronic record going back 10/11 years for every cent spent.
The conversation is usually short. " There’s the keys…can’t see anything…but"
“Ok…we’ll call when done”
I was refering to the boat
Ah!
Duh!

Well done Rob! Keep ‘em flyin’.
Had a pretty narrow technical squeak with it 2 days back.
The Auto was leaking ATF from one of the return pipes, albeit the system is not pressurised.
It’s been weeping around an egg cupful a month for as long as I can recall TBH.
Try getting these pipes now. Solution, make them up with brake hose instead, and seal/circlip the ends into the bell housing. That went well, probably better engineered than the OEM.
But…a sensor had to be unplugged in the process…I think it’s a sensor that talks to the Auto ECU…which in turn is wired to the engine ECU.
Said sensor parted one of the wires which had been exposed for 27 years.
Guess what…No one but no one has one, had one, or if they had one quite naturally would not take it off spare transmission. In short, utterly knackered…insofar Auto just wont work.
Oh dear. SORN till next year and go manual.
However…there is a very good Auto Leccy business I’ve driven by for decades, so popped knacked sensor with it’s wires into them.
Much sucking of teeth and assurances I’d not get one anywhere…but leave it and we will see.
Got a call this morning…fixed for £25.00…they managed to take it apart, install mini spades, then seal the whole thing for life with resin.
Talk about a bullet dodge…I’ll carry on trying to trace another…just in case.
The Kingdom for a horse shoe nail.
